I had the mac set up to run windows by the Apple experts. I am not sure what emulater they used but the T-max program did NOT run smoothly, other window programs ran well. That is what I said.

Sorry, no offense intended. You would not believe the folks who don't understand there is a difference.
The software emulation works fine for some things but not all, usually anything that doesn't use a lot of processor time runs fairly well.
A cheap PC is a not a bad solution either, especially for the OP who has a desktop. But if someone already has a powerful mac laptop capable of running windows, creating a small partition is a five minute job and a copy of Windows is less than $100.
