The driver was maybe 1500ft back when I spotted him in my mirrors. And he looked like was was coming fast. There were two lanes, I was in the one on the right, or the slow lane. His speed made me nervous at first, but I just ignored it and kept my eyes on the road. Next thing I know, the Prius flys by me on the left out of nowhere, inches away from me!!! It took me a second to recompose myself, .
I'm sorry the guy almost ruined your ride, but c'mon. A good rider would never lose sight of a driver that made him nervous, until the car was no longer a potential threat. Glancing in your mirrors from time to time doesn't take any time away from watching the road ahead.
South Park did a show about the owners of cars like that. Smug was the word used to describe the owners and their attitude toward others. Then the Smug cloud started to blanket the country!!
My neighbor's kid who's an ECO NUTJOB and works at the Univ. of Michigan has one of those Blue sparkley ones. All I can say is God help you if you have poor vision or are blind or deaf and step off a curb...... You cant hear them coming! That and the owners think their SH*T DONT STINK and they're intellectually better than everyone else. Dinks me off. I just hate snooty people like that. <snip>
Preach it, brother...you are SO right..!
Those Prius' are rolling environmental catastrophes...

Thats an excellent point, but trust me I learned my lesson. many quick glances at the mirrors every time I ride now.
