As soon as mags were available was the last I ever ran them.Do remember the task of cleaning them,it took dedicated time to clean and wax,all those pieces of wire..

My spokes and wheels look like factory and I don't spend time on them. It's all a matter of tooling, but yesterday I tried something new that worked totally hands free: Scrubbing Bubbles! 15 seconds soak and a hard water spray removed all the road spooge, leaving them looking like I'd just polished them.
Of course, I don't let the bike get super dirty, either. Just normal riding dust and crap. Then followed the cleanup with a quickwax; you could use the pledge, but I'm still trying to get rid of the expensive stuff first.

I feel your pain. My fix was to replace them with some used mags that I bought on the For Sale section of this great forum.

I had stainless diamond cut spokes to my Springer. I love them, they really sparkle in the sun light. Cleaning is NO problem. If really dirty, I pre spray simple green or some liquid cleaner, let soak for a couple of minuets and then use a quality spoke brush to clean with. It only takes a few minuets per wheel and is really quit easy. I would much rather clean those than the white walls I had on the E Classic, that was a job I hated.

My spokes look like the day it rolled off the factory floor. What I do is after I wash it I put it up on my lift. That makes all the difference, believe me. The wheels are at eye level when I sit on my stool and you can clean the chrome as you spin the tire. Mothters chrome polish works well as do several others.

Scrubbing Bubbles is the Chit !!!!!
Works good enough unless you're going to enter your scoot in a world- class bike show. Then you're gonna have to get down with it and wrap a micro fiber strip around each spoke, one at a time, and start to push and pull, up and down. Mark the rim with a piece of tape so you know when to stop. Or do what I do, pay your kids or grandkids a few $$ to do it. Surprisingly they always do a bang up job.
