Default Mismatched Tires

I bought a 02 Road King today for resale. When I got the bike home I noticed it had two different tires on it. The rear was Dunlop and the front was a Bridgestone. Both tires look near new, but is there a safety issue in mis matching tires? I need to know for sure before I list the bike for sale (don't need a lawsuit).

As long as the front isn't a radial, use the search option and you will find lots of posts on this subject. I have a Metzler radial on the back and have a Dunlap bias on the front. When the front finally wears out I'll have a Metzler bias on the front.

Take it for a ride. If it tracks and corners ok you're golden.

Always ride the same brand tires, for peace of mind if anything.

Due to a last minute flat and an oddball 18" tire size I went almost 10k miles with a Metz on the back and a Avon on the front with no ill effects.

The bias/radial front or back is BS...Mostly manufacturer tales to sell more tires...Bias/Radial is really a factor on trailers. but when in a straight line at the speeeds a HD will go then there is really no issues withrunning mixed...I have done bothe radial front n back mixed with bias ply and i could never tell a difference.
