My Vega XTS Naked Review
I was thinking the helmet felt pretty comfy before I got into the wind, but when I hit the freeway I was sold. Yes, it is bigger than the ACC. It isn't nearly as big as the HD half helmet I had before, but it is obviously a DOT helmet. In my experience, it does not catch the wind on the freeway, like both my ACC and HD ones did, and it doesn't have to be cinched down to the point of choking to accomplish this. The liner is far more comfortable than the ACC was, and even though it is just fiberglass, it feel light. Light enough that i forgot it was on. The straps feel fine, although my one gripe is that the rear downstrap could sit a little farther back to go behind my ear easier. It really isn't too much if an issue though.
Finally, I wear a medium in almost every helmet. I measured per their site, and bought a medium too. I would say it run a little big for a medium, but it is still clear that their small would be too small and large too large. If you teeter closer to the next size up, keep that in mind.
I was expecting to hate it out of the box and send it back, but it is a keeper. I would love to try an HCI on someday too, but for me, I am very pleased with this 60.00 helmet. Much more so than my 160.00 ACC. I guess I can cut the ungodly long strap now!
