"Most american citizens have short memories anyway"
Some have too long of memories. My German ancestors fought the Vikings hundreds of years ago. Maybe I will go to Minnesota next fall and protest the football team.

Vets of other wars haven't done this. Why? I can only guess that wearing Communist Chinese or NK ingisnia in any context wold not have been well received in 1950s America. After Vietnam, vets wore their own insignia, if at all.

So it would seem you are free to set a trend. Just slap a DOT sticker on it

Lol. I am not putting that thing on my head. There is no telling what kind of nasty s**t was in that thing before it was acquired from the cross sabres.

All I brought back from Sandbox I was a soccer jersey I bought in Kuwait City. Kind of dumb, but at least I knew it was clean

I logged over 600 flight hours in 10 months, and got my *** shot at while sitting on the ramp of my Chinook. I just ordered a German style motorcycle helmet (from jafrum.com), and I bet I am 100% more "American" than you are. For 1, I am not bitching and griping about what other people are wearing; and 2, I did my time fulfilling my duty, have you?
I sincerely thank you for your service to our country. I didn't serve, but my dad had a gig in WWII. He wasn't too found of the ***** after the flight crew he served with found a French family, who lived by the airfield, trampled to death from the hob-nailed boots of German foot soldiers. I would think me wearing a Republican Guard helmet would stir the same feelings in you. Regardless, you earned the right to wear whatever the hell you want.

Thanks for the kind words. The republican guard representations wouldn't bother me, it would be the support of the Taliban or Al Quida that would grind my gears. I have lost 2 buddy's in Afghanistan so far. Travis Vaughn, and Nick Mueller, both boys from Iowa.

All right, are we about done with the 70 year old stories of how bad the nasty Germans were? Lets move on to the Japanese, the Huns, the nasty English, the evil Indians (Native Americans), the barbarians, those nuke dropping Bay of Pigs Russians.... Its a FRIGGIN HELMET already. So your not going to wear a certain style of helmet because your dad said soldiers wore a similar helmet and trampled a family to death? Come on already! On behalf of us German/Americans who are NOT *****, KMA!! NEXT TOPIC. And, I did serve in the U.S. Navy in the early 80s, so I too can say what I want.

With all due respect, you left off those damn yankees.
Well stated Cabocarl. Wear and say what you want.
