very similar situation for myself today.
waiting to make a left, i had some lady clear run a red light at 55 and blow by me.
she came from the opposite direction, went around stopped traffic, thru the left hand turn lane and came back around into the southbound traffic...
i was in the middle of the intersection waiting for either a break in traffic or a red light so i could scoot through.
just like you i started to release, crept about 5 feet and then hit the clutch, front brake, and **** myself all at the same time.

The absolute worst is a multi-lane intersection when the traffic lights are out. Everyone just barely slows down and then thinks it's their turn to go. I've almost been nailed twice under those circumstances. I freakin' hate that.

Last night on 480 west bound @ 150th. Going around 65mph. Lady on her cell cuts me off big time. Lay on the horn and take the next lane, luckly it was open. She gives me the stupid sorry look. Its to easy to get a licence in Ohio.
