Well, I'm going down there tomorrow and staying the weekend for a job interview and to just spend some time in the city. I may take a little road trip with the rental car and explore these areas you all speak of. I'm so excited at the possibility of being able to ride year round. Can't go through another winter like we did last year here in KC. That sucked.

Nice half day + ride in the most beautiful country in Texas (IMHO)
Head back to Fredericksburg for some German food and shopping.
Greetings,
Grew up on Park Road 1 between Bastrop and Buscher State Parks.
Out to the East of Austin, you will hit the Lost Pines Belt which is where Park Road 1 lives.
I live 30 miles SW of Austin and drive into Austin during the week for work.
Ride the scooter to work every time I can!
Only downside to riding to work in Austin is aways looking for an excuse to leave work early when I do!
Lots of good indy shops in and around Austin for parts and service.
Don't spend much time or money in the MOCO shops except to look!
We only had time to drive around Lake Travis, but oh my god that is beautiful. Yeah I-35 sucks and you can't see anything. But man once outside of austin, that's where I want to live. Southwest is it!
