Everybody knows that the front master cylinder is notorious for leaking. Mine did too. Paint is bubbled, and I was wondering if anyone knew a way to re-paint the master cylinder, or how you did yours. Thanks.

1:First clean the cylinder of any Brake fluid residue.
2:Then Gently sand the bubble down, careful not to aggravate the surrounding non bubbled paint thus creating a bigger than necessary area needing painting.
3:Cover the bike so no paint has a chance of dripping onto it during painting process.
Then use a black touch up paint pen from Harley, apply paint slowly, these pens have a touch release tip, so don't push too much as the paint will begin to flow...
4:Use a small but not too narrow bristled brush to even out the paint if necessary.
Do all of this in a garage with no wind or direct sunlight. It wont look perfect, but that's what I would do.
Cheers,
Tom

Another alternative is to tape it all up after sanding and spray it with HD's flat black. Do it sparingly for a few coats and it will look fine.

I've painted mine a couple of times but it ends up pealing eventually. This was never a problem with the old DOT5 fluid but the new stuff just eats the paint. I finally got tired if doing it and just polished it so it looks like chrome now.
