RE: Lost my Bell!
I never had a bell before but could of used one back in '97. Luckily, the lunch truck took the most damage. I never heard of this legend until I got here.
Lost mine, worried, now don't care. I let my Karma do the riding. By the way if someone buys you another I saw a guy that used a key ring to attach the bell to bike. Don't do what my brother in law did. He mounted his on brace above fender on new road king. Major bump in road, now has a cemetrical dent on fender. I didn't ask him if he still had the bell.
Well considering it's supposed to be on the lowest part of the bike......
The reason for the bell is to keep the road gremlins away.
Here's a brief explanation. I have to admit it does sound a little,,, should I say it? g a y ?
It is more the knowledge that another person is concerned about your well-being while on your bike. I got mine from my Brother, and it will be there until it falls off. ([sm=icon_stickpoke.gif] fatboy4ever)
If the bell you buy or someone else buys does not match, your friend will know it when he sees your bike. Tell him the story. I doubt he gave you the one off his Indian, but if he did, you can give him one for it and he'll probably give you another.
