The nicer the weather gets, the more miserable it is getting not being able to ride. I got my beautiful bike in December and only got to ride it a few times before the epic snow storms, and then I couldn't ride because I injured my back. I had surgery last month, and my surgeon has forbidden me from riding until September. Actually, I can't even drive a car right now because I have a numb right leg.
I admit to sneaking out to just sit on it and pet the tank. Not very satisfying though, especially when I have to watch my dad ride off on MY bike.
I wonder if I will even remember how to ride it by the time fall rolls around.
That is a tough one, but your letting your dad ride it?? There are always exceptions to the rules. Hang in there an follow the doc's orders, it'll pay off in the long run.
Sweet lookin ride too!!
Sorry to hear that heymoej. I hope you can get back on a bike sometime.
At least I do have it to look forward to so I really shouldn't be feeling so sorry for myself, although I will have to do something about the seat and maybe a backrest. The mini apes on mine really help with shoulder position and leveraging the bike up.
I feel your pain! I just had a total hip replacement last week. No riding for three months. It seems like a long time but it will fly by. That first ride in going to be AWESOME! I wish you a speedy recovery.

My dad hasn't had a bike of his own for many years, so it would be cruel to not share. He is a very experienced rider though, so I gladly put him in charge of the engine break in period. I still have a LOT to learn from him.
I would rather he have his own and we ride together though! Of course, if he doesn't stop bitching about the color, I still might take away his key. (he really hates the denim paints)
Molly, sorry about your health issues, hope you get well quickly,
I spent all winter rebuilding my Road King, into a street king, spent over $2500. got it running fine the first week of May, then May 23, had to take it to the shop for a split fuel line, it was in the shop for a week. Got the bike back on a Friday, rode Saturday, Rained on Sunday, so Monday, I took my kid to gymnastics practice, was sitting still at an intersection, when some dumb women who was stopped behind me was texting, thought the light turned green, smashed on the gas, and ran into the back of me, causing $9000 worth of damage, now my bike won't be ready until sometime this summer. I wanted to ride to FLA but that is not going to happen, oh well, at least I have my health, the bike can wait.
Do the PT it's important for your recovery. and good luck!
That's awful. Thank goodness you weren't hurt. Hopefully your bike will be fixed up sooner rather than later.
I'm not doing any PT yet--still in the "lounge around all day doing nothing" stage of recovery. I teach high school and had to go back to work last week for the last couple days of school, and that activity just about killed me.
I was going to take a really nice road trip zigzagging across Virginia in July.

Sorry to hear of your situation. You are way to young to have back problems but hopfully, long term, the prognosis is good. Hang in there September will be here before you know it.
I am probably older than I look, or so it seems. But this is my second back surgery in 2 years. I just have the "luck" of getting DDD pretty early, which I guess is genetic.
When I can, I'm going to start trying water exercises or something to see if it helps. It is scaring me about the future.
