Default Fork assembly question??

Changing out my lower forks for chrome. I'm ready to put everything back together, however, I'm stuck with trying to put the damper tube past the slider bushing and the lower stop into the chrome lower. I cannot get the forks back together. I haven’t really beaten the thing yet because of the chrome. Any ideas?

Note, im really good and taking things apart... putting them back together... well???

hog, what model bike? ive done the sportster forks. if youve replaced the bushings, you put the bushing on the tube, drop the tube in the slider, then you have to drive the slider bushing in. have your cap, dust seal and fork seal up on the fork tube in the order to assemble the fork. real easy if the fork tubes are out of the trees.
