The worst part about a vivid black bike is just as soon as you done polishing it, it looks dusty again. I think a white bike would be easier to keep clean.,,

Thanks for the reply's. This knowledge is why I joined. I would like to get this right the first time (yeah right). I'm looking at the Red Hot Sunglo pretty hard also. It will be good to see the 2011 colors.

Default Black is Black

I've had Black cars and Bikes. Nothing looks sharper than a Clean Black and Chrome Machine (IMO). But nothing shows dust faster and looks dirtier faster. If you go with the Black, keep it clean and waxed. If you're not crazy about cleaning your bike a lot (I am - its almost a religion in my garage) I'd suggest another color.

But - welcome to the family

I have a vivid black road glide. It doesn't even look as dirty as a black car. I wash mine like once every two weeks. If you do get those surface spider webs in the clear coat, I use gleam, and it takes them all out. It does get dusty, but a little detail spray and microfiber cloth and it looks like I just washed it. I don't think it's that hard to keep the black looking good. I do agree about the tank next to the seat.... can't seem to keep that from marring.... just gleam it there, a little polish, and it's a done deal. Black and chrome is the best looking in my opinion.

I have vivid black on my bike and it is five years old now and still looks like new. Black does require special care but it isn't hard to keep like new.Never dry wipe it, always use wet clean soft cloth even if you have to wait until the next day or when ever, dirt aint hurting it if it is just on their.

I love my black RK, but I hate it. It's a bitch to keep clean. I wash it several times a week and no matter how good I take care of it, every speck of dust, dirt, and grime shows after 1 ride, but boy, when she's clean does she look great. I'm **** about how I take care of my bike so I do wash/wax it more than others may.

California duster to take the dust off before you wipe it with whatever your favorite detailer is.

There was a time when I had 3 black cars/trucks. The truck would start getting dirty before I was done drying it.

But if I could get them all clean at the same time, they looked great.

I thought about getting a Vivid Black bike, but bikes get dirty everywhere. I got Black Pearl, instead.

Thanks,

My 06 is vivid black & it shows some scratches in the sun. My 09 has a few but in blue they are harder to see.

But to answer your question, the 09 would be black if I had to do it over again.
