Default Disappointed FLTR Ultra

I have been waiting for the FLTR Ultra since the rumors started. I want a black denim bike bad! I was upset to see that it doesnt come in denim. Do I buy a vivid black one or buy a denim FLTR custom and pay out the wazoo to make it close to the ultra? This sucks!

If you buy a color or a bike you don't like, you will never really enjoy owning it.

What do you think it would cost to paint it denim? Is this something any reputable paint shop can do?

Why buy something you don't want? Either way your not going to be happy with it. Keep you wallet in your pants until Harley wakes up and smells what your cooking!

You could ask around at the dealer if they have anyone they send parts out to be painted.
Looks basically like a primered bike. I'd think it would be tough to mess up the paint job. The key would be the prep work.

I have a 2010 road glide ultra that I spent a ton on. I really love the bike. Unless money is not an issue, I would say that the 2011 Road Glide Ultra is a significant upgrade for the money. Power pak is standard. Probably cost $3000 to do the paint, but you could upgrade stereo at the same time. I did see a show,"Two Wheel Thunder" that put the stock 96" at 54hp. They didn't give torque numbers. I don't see how one could justify not buying the RG ultra just over a color issue. All my projects have successfully came in well over budget. Buy the ultra and paint it if you can't stand the color. Do a little airbrushing and have a truly unique harley.

You don't want to be riding (and paying for) a bike that isn't what you really want. Check a few local body shops that have a good rep, ask your dealer and/or indy and get a quote. If you can take the tins off yourself you will save a bunch of cash.
