P47 A lad and a lassie were having a little picnic out in the heather. She asked him what he wore under his kilt. He said reach your hand under there and find out. So she stuck her hand under his kilt and yelled "gruesome". He said well stick your hand under there again and you'll find it gruesome more.

It was/is a bit of a fad with the hardcore/punk set for awhile. In fact they were making them out of that Carhart type canvas material.

I'm of Scots decent and have 4 kilts. There have been a couple of times, a special M/C tour of the motorcycle exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum and then a Scottish Club event; and then commuting from work to a Scottish friends sending off party, where I wore my kilt on the motorcycle. If you tuck the pleats up under your legs the apron doesn't fly up and your thighs stay covered. Sometimes the left side comes a bit loose from placing your food down at stops but even when it loosens it doesn't fly up, except at hiway speeds. And then I'm past so fast that people don't quite know what they saw. The most difficult part is getting the pleats smoothed out between your butt and the seat. I did draw some good looks riding through Times Square the evening of the party.
