Did the 5K service to get ready for Sturgis
Took a picture of the oil, filter, service manual, air shock pump, belt deflection gauge,ft.lb and inch pound torque wrenches and tools as a part of the record that the service was done. Along with the list of things to do and check for the 5K service.

Put the bike up on the Harbor Freight Hi Lift.

The oil and filter change is not even a 30 minute job. Checking the dozen or so things on the list was about an hour tops.
Saved enough from the dealers price to pay for the lift on the first use. It was $160 and of course the oil and filter with some dollars to spare.
Test drove the bike and it is ready to go to Sturgis.
The dealer threw in the 1K service with the purchase of the bike. I found that the oil plug was only lightly snugged into the pan. Not torqued in at all. It could have come out during the last trip. Maybe the Gremlin Bells held it in.
Each to his own on doing the service. I feel better checking everything out myself. If I screw it up that's fine. If someone else does that's grounds for pulling the 12 ga. out.
