So I have this "internet friend" that I have been chatting with for the past year or so that works in the York HD plant and has worked there many years, the last few in a supervisory position. Through all the crap that has been happening the past year she has been able to keep her job. So the other day I casually ask her how things are going at work. She says "Pretty bad. the company is sticking it to us". I tried to get her to elaborate, but she just says "Long story. Sure not gonna write it all out But morale is bad there. Would never buy a 2011." I'm not really sure how to take that. I'm gonna keep pressing for details.
Times are tough enough for the Mo Co. So you decide to put this crap up on the web. In this recession why not give HD a good kick in the teeth.......Sheesh

Ouch.......am not in market to trade-up but I hope she is just "venting" and not serious about that comment. If HD were to turn out bad product due to whatever reason then they won't have much to complain about at York anymore except for closure.
No intent to open up a union/non-union issue but the only job security any of us have is to turn out a high quality product.

Too true.
Good workers are retained because they do good work, and good work stands out in the marketplace.
If the workers are so sullen that they are intentionally or unintentionally bringing the product down, they are only shooting themselves in the foot, and making management feel justified in their decision.
Things are rough all over. Employees were riding the gravy train for awhile but those days are over. My wife won't be getting a pay raise this year and has to start paying a portion of her medical benefits.
Our standard of living has been taking a hit for years but especially so in the last 2. But we're doing alot better than many others.
Funny how some people with great jobs start taking them for granted after awhile. Bitching and complaining, finding fault with everything management does, and dragging morale down. Acting like they're owed a living. And then when they find themselves on the unemployment line they cry about the unfairness of life.
Chit wait till U all retire..... 66% pay cut and now all kind of deductibles on Insurance..
Hope U all's company dont go into the PBGC like ours did either.

"Internet friend" Why does that comment make me laugh? And we're supposed to believe what your "friend" has to say? I've got a friend of a cousin that says you're wrong.
Right! Heaven forbid we should bring up or read about anything depressing in this world. That leaves uhh... not much.
Maybe we should talk about nothing but kitties and puppies and rainbows.
