I have spent much on tools for my bike.
However, there have been a few times when I wished I could have a short hex and torx socket. I was going to check my transmission fluid yesterday and the socket was to long to fit under the oil pan to get to the trans check screw.
Do I need to go to the dealership to buy some tools?
If you need to buy some tools try looking for a tool store that sells mostly to pros. You will pay more than at Harbor Frieght but less that at the dealer.
No, you don't have to go to the dealership to but new tools..
You can buy 'em wherever you want.
I do understand the need for the right ones tho and they can be easily obtained anywhere.
When I use my 5/8 hex socket, there is not enough room for the trans plug to unscrew all the way and be easily taken out/off.
Is there something in the way prohibiting the drain plug from being loosened completely using a socket? Also, when I drain the fluids I usually loosen the plugs enough with the wrench then remove using my fingers. I'd prefer the plugs not drop into the drain pan.
Are the trans drain plugs on your TC96B different than the trans drain plug on the TC96A?
