Registration without Title

Can you use the Bill of Sale in New Jersey to register your motorcycle if you don't yet have the title? The dealer said it could be up to two weeks before the title arrives in the mail. I won't be here in two weeks and I may not come back until Christmas. I have Pennsylvania 30 day tags currently.

Most likely not. That is why they give you the temp tag.

if you bought it at a dealer in PA and have the bill of sale you should be able to register it but my question is why wouldnt they do that for you?
since you live in NJ they should be processing all the paper work for you.

Go to the state motor vehicle web site. It should list what they take. Here in maryland they will not take a bill of sale. Only a title or copy of title and I think some other legal paper.
