OK so my old man had a 1950 panhead he just sold. Not really an original bike- rear head was from a '48, horn from a '58 and a few other discrepancies. So my dad sells the bike to a guy who is in the business of buying bikes- then selling them for a profit. The day the guy buys the bike.. it's already on ebay. One of my buddies asked the guy via email if all the belly #'s match and all of that stuff (just to see if he would tell the truth). The guy replyed YES. my dad made him fully aware before he sold it all of the things that arent original with the bike.
I should really just let it go since our end of the transaction is done but i cant stop thinking about it.

Well, he posted this in response to a question, " Great question GT....and I'm not really sure of the answer. We are NOT experts on these older pieces. We bought it thinking it is mostly original, but can't swear to it. The fellow that we got from who purchased it in 1980 really wouldn't know either. He is not a hard core biker type, just a guy who like to take a cruise once in a while. Wish I could be more helpful. Thanks, Kevin"
i don't think you have anything to worry about. from looking at the ad, the only thing they are saying is that the case number matches the vin number on the title. other than that, they allude to it not being original......

I'd call him out on it.
yeah see the fellow who he bought it from does know. and told him before he sold it.
He did show pictures of the 48 and 50 numbers on the heads. He also has the head numbers in print at the bottom. Any collector would know the truth, by the pictures.

If he showed the pics, and alluded to it being not stock, then I guess it's ok. I take evilbay pretty seriously and hate to see someone who doesn't know how to play the game get screwed, though. I guess it could happen if it were in the local trader paper, too, though.
