I dont know why people think sportsters or deluxs are chicks bikes...
allthough i have never owned one, my gf wants a a delux and i plan of setting up solo so i can take it out too...i love them
great bike dude! be safe and most importantly JUST HAVE FUN!
I think the reason that some say the Deluxe is a chick bike is because it is the lowest sitting bike in the Harley line up. I like low. I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 220. My Road King is slammed so in the grand scheme of things according to the big bad *** bikers on here, I ride a chick bike also. That's cool.

WOW that's a nice ride, don't take this the wrong way but that's the wrong first bike. You should have bought a cheap metric and learn on it first, think how you will feel when you drop that new baby of yours...its going to happen.
Be safe brother
Worst advice ever. Doesnt your sig say "if you cant say nothing nice dont say nothing at all" Youre basically telling this guy hes going to fail at riding his new bike.
Some of us can probably start on whatever bike they want, unlike some people...you maybe?

I agree that it's a damn nice bike. But I disagree that it's the wrong first bike to get. It's low which means better footing=less likely to drop. Also it's not overly top heavy=less likely to drop. And it looks awesome=less likely to drop, Lol.
Besides if you drop it SO WHAT! It's not the end of the world or the end of riding.
I finally dropped mine a few weeks ago! Luckily it was in a deep sand driveway(which is why I dropped it) and all it needed was dusting off. LOL
