Seeing in the rain
Full-face are great in the rain. They actually make the experience, even for hours at high-way speeds, not bad.
Otherwise, get some goggles.
Glasses just suck in the rain.

Spit is supposed to be put on the inside of glasses, then rinsed well with clean water. Just like scuba divers do with their diving masks. That is to stop them from fogging up...
To resolve your issue with the drops of water on the outside of your glasses...
Spray them with Pledge, and wipe with clean micro fiber cloth. Then, when yer on the road and it begins to rain you will need to position your head so that the front face of your glasses is at an angle to the wind in front. THEN the water droplets will roll off, allowing you to continue on your trip.
I learned that last march/april, when I was caught in a torential rain comin home from virginia. The last few miles through georgia, I spent doin 50-55mph with the bike leaned over at about 10-15 degrees because the wind shield had acumulated to many drops on the front and the inside had fogged up, (I forgot to pledge my windshield). But I almost always clean my sunglasses with pledge, so once I got the windshield out of the way by leaning over, my eyes could see everything I wished I had missed...

I wear a FF in the rain.
If you don't a full-face helmet, get a full-face shield for your 3/4 or 1/2 helmet.
Glasses? Even if you can prevent them from fogging, you still have water all over your face that will eventually get blown into your eyes.

Those glasses with the foam sides work good too. Just last week I had my night glasses on in the rain and the water was rolling to the inside so bad that I could not see. Reluctantly I switched back to my sun glasses and they kept the water out of my eyes.
Rain-x will wash away the first time you clean your glasses with anything other than Rain-x.

Full-face helmet and a pair of rain gloves that has a built-in squeegee on the left index finger. That and some anti-fog solution on the inside of the faceshield and you should be able to see almost perfectly.
