having V&H on my Evo that had no baffles when I got it I think you will hate the way it sounds when you let off the gas. Probably won't hurt anything but your your ears.

Probably? It will definitely hurt your ears.

It will hurt relations with neighbors.

It will scare motorists. I also believe that to SOME DEGREE, loud pipes save lives. However, as a Harley owner and rider, I have been scared to death by some guy with a big twin and no baffles blasting by me at speed, whether I'm on the bike or in the cage. I could easily envision some poorly skilled motorist swerving INTO a loud sounding bike. Did you ever notice that some people steer their car in the direction they are LOOKING? I have.

It will hurt low end torque.

I do not believe that it will hurt the bike, although you may have to retune slightly for the lack of baffles.

Personall, I like Vance & Hines, but have always felt that their QUIET BAFFLES were a bit too loud. Standard baffles? Way too loud? No baffles? Not for me, that's for sure!

I made some "poor mans baffles" based on info from a post on this forum. spent about $1.50 for some eye-bolts at OSH. had the rest in the garage. it isn't a hell of a lot quieter on acceleration ( a little though ) but that nasty back-rattle is gone. really sucked coming down the mountains.

The only thing it will harm is your relationship with the neighbors
