Take my word for it, shifting gears and braking with drop foot ( in this case feet ) would be problematic under the best of circumstances. This guy is already has physical issues and possibly brain damage as well. On the other hand I think this is no way in hell a call for help, just someone having a little fun.

I would think Trike as well. Don't know anything about drop foot except what has been posted but, stopping at or taking off from traffic lights sounds like it could be dangerous. If you were to lose it at a stop, one of the cell phone bandits could run you over.

Sounds like a trike or sidecar is the best bet

I seen a Goldwing once that had hyd stabilizers that came down only when the bike was stopping, went back up into bags when he got rolling.Looked like aircraft landing gear.

Don't know anything about them other than seeing them on a bike.

It depends on how bad his condition is. Can start with something small as a honda rebel.

New trikes are expensive. Maybe he can find a good deal on an old servi car.

Better to be on a trike. Why risk getting hurt.

I cannot say that this is the same exact system but I know this company and have seen them work. Try www.landingear.com/. The cost is around 3500.00 but varies from one make to another.

I have a Harley leg, cager went left of center on me several years ago and left me with some drop foot, left foot. I always liked to dig in under that toe shifter before the accident but soon adapted to the heel and toe shifter on the HD.

Thing is if you had prior riding experience I would say get the HD with the heel toe shifter and the right foot is good to go with the HD foot and hand brake. However if you are just breaking into riding I would advise against it unless you are going to go with a Trike first. Work it out on a trike and if you can get the hang of it you can go to a bike later on.

Ridley makes an automatic but I would not be caught dead on one!
