Default first toy run!

on saturday the wife and i did a local toy run and man was it impressive.had to be at least 200bikes rolling through the county.one guy from the radio station said he had to wait 10min at a stop sign to let us all through.my question or statement is,my wife had a great time taking in the sights but i'm stressed out and tried.there are some crazy people in those things.speed-up,brake,speed-up,brake!cot corners to tight etc.i've done small rides ,but this was new.is there a good spot to be.i was in the middle of the pack.

Sounds like you had fun. I prefer to be near the front but doesn't matter. I find large group rides more tiring, as you have to concentrate on those other bikes and what they are doing.

The main toy run down here has a few more bikes than that! (Check the LINK !) I took part in it once and will probably not do it again. I will still donate a toy and go to the stuff at the end but the actual run itself is more of a parade thean anything else. They close the 2 main highways here so its nothing but bikes but it takes a couple hours to ride the handfull of miles from start to finish. They make you pay to be in the ride ( all goes to charity) and if you want to be near the front you have to pay more for the VIP section. They are estimating 30,000 bikes in this years run so if your at the back the leaders will already be tipping back a cold one at the after party before you start your bike.
