For as long as I can remember someone's always been projecting the end of HD.
Couldn't survive without AMF's deep pockets.
Couldn't compete with cheap foreign bikes.
Couldn't go after the yuppie market without loosing their base.
and so on
HD has outlasted lots of companies that 'did everything right'.
Well, you gotta admit, there are a lot of the Harley copycat bikes being sold now that would have been either big metric "others" or Harleys themselves.
Love your "Iron hogs" tag!

They can copy all they want, it will never be a Harley. It would be pretty sad, to spend that kind of money on a machine that mimics a Harley in every way, to the closest detail and still come up with a handful of air!
It would be kind of like having that dream date with_________ (fill in the blank) and dropping the load in the Victoria"s Secrets.
If that's close enough for ya, then I'm happy for ya!!!

Well just the same, some of my best friends are on big metrics. I just don't want to ride their bikes, and they wish they had mine. If they tried to act all badass, they wouldn't be riding with me. They can hold their own without showing it to anyone. I'm sure they have that 'empty' feeling when they ride with a bunch of Harleys, but not everyone can afford one. Were I one of the "Hogsnobs", I'd be missing some great and trusted company.

I don't see an aging biker problem. I'm aging and I have no problem riding my motorcycle. When I can no longer hold up two wheels, I'm gonna' get a trike. As for all the other motorcycles out there, they are all fine machines, but none of them will ever look, sound, or feel like a Harley Davidson. No matter how hard they try.
