There is more independent proof that you do not need to remap the HD EFI when installing mufflers.
Nothing new here. If you are installing only mufflers then you do not have to re-map. Personally I have never done only mufflers so I Dyno all my bikes. I can usually up the power significantly and let the engine run cooler.
I think it's funny that if harley is going to warantee the use of screamming eagle parts,ie. mufflers and intakes with no remap then, what the hell....as long as you're not running lean then go for it.....I will still rely on the sepst and a good dyno tune but its not as nessary as once thought to get a good sound out of you're bike..

They were not talking about doing only mufflers...that's the interesting part.
Well, maybe it's been discussed, but I never heard of it. I'd like to hear more about it.
If you read the whole page and some other areas on this web site it does say mufflers and/or AF - they have some good points and do site some indy magazines so it plausable.

I have an Arlen Ness Billet Big Sucker sitting in a box because I don't have a SERT/SEST/PC V or whatever yet and was afraid to lean out the bike too much. I always heard that the air intake is worse to do than mufflers if you don't have fuel management. If it is not critical, then I'll mount that sucker for now and get the fuel management when i do the pipes...
When I add Stage I AF and pipes this winter I will be also adding SERT and getting the engine dyno tuned. Personally, I can't imagine doing the upgrade half way. I want all the performance benefits through the entire range of the engine that the SERT and dyno can provide.
