This is great. Now we have carrying a concealed firearm entered into the discussion.
I'm calling my senator first thing Monday and asking him to introduce legislation that would outlaw wearing helmets in all fifty states. No more freedom of choice in this matter. No more silly and preachy posts by the ones who are so frightened and prejudiced that they should not be riding anyway.
In Texas, freedom of choice means either flour or corn tortillas, your choice.
I appreciate good satirical humor myself, but it DOES sail over closed minds, doesn't it?
I always ride with a helmet, and anyone who chooses not to wear one, as a signifier of personal freedom, is a hapless participant in a reactionary cohort whose misplaced confidence in their collective abilities to avoid injury through riding style, compromises both themselves and other road users.......just sayin'
Yep, here in Indiana we can go without a helmet, but our freedom isn't free. Taxes are high here, and so are license plates. They just tacked on a fee to our registration price to fund a brain injury research or something.

well, at least they'll have a steady supply of research subjects
I'm not sure congrats are in order, but that's the first time I've seen a man work the word "blushes" into a motorcycle forum...don't let it happen again, and we'll let you keep your man card...just this once...
....says the guy who called another guy "sweet pea"
I live in a non helmet state and have ridden in many others. I have never come across a group of riders or an accumulation of seeing other riders during the ride that didn't have at least 25% or more with helmets.
I go through Indiana almost every year. Always see helmets. Helmets are not required in Sturgis S.D. I see more and more there with them every year.
In Iowa which is a non helmet state at the J&P open house I saw almost half with helmets.
I just do not think the OP could ride through any no helmet state and not see a surprising amount of helmets. So I call B.S.
