I always knew that my priest use to ride.
He mentions it every now and then in church,
and in functions. Last sunday I rode my bike to
the church picnic. He comes up and starts talking
to me about it. I kinda felt silly cause my priest
knew more about my bike than I did. We talked for
a few minutes then went on our way.
Tues. night we had a meeting at church. Father T. comes
up shakes my hand and asks if I rode the "hog" up tonight.
I said I didn't. We start talking about rides we have been on
and stuff like this. Then he asks the ? "how many miles have
ridden in a day". I replied that I have done a couple of 500
milers. He says that he has done 1100 in one day.
I said well you have the, he interuptend with a big smile and
said thats right the Iron BoBo. I think it is the coolest thing
for him to have done that. Makes me remember that no matter
what position the person has. They are still people just
like us. And they all have there own passions too. Just really
cool that his is motorcycles.
He then went on to tell me that he had sold his bike
so that he could afford to go on some mission trips
the year before. I think I'm gonna rent him one for the
day and go riding together.
To rent him a bike for a day and go riding with him would be WAY COOL of you! It'll cost you 100-125 for a day of making good memories and allowing him to get back in the saddle. It might even inspire a sermon for him!! Big thumbs up to you if you do it!
My fathers best friend is a pastor from another church in town. The two of them went to arizona this past winter, for business and to ride. For him it was one of the best riding experiences he has ever had. Talking with the pastor at the different spots along the trip about all sorts of things including spiritual things was great they would talk about something and ride a hundred miles giving them the time to think the discussion through. While it did have something to do that they were good friends but I think it was largely due to the fact that his friend is the pastor.
I knew a Father T (Tom) in Georgia in the mid 1960s that owned a Honda 250 or 350. He went on vacation and asked me if I would like to keep his bike and ride it while he was gone. I was without a bike at the time so jumped on the opportunity. I broke the rear tail light lens over doing it on a wheelie. When he returned and I confessed he refused to let me pay for it and just laughed and asked me if I had a good time. A real cool priest.

WOW Now that took some patience on his
part. Priest or not. I bet he had to say a
few Our Fathers on that one.

Nice gesture. He'll like that.

Not necessarily. Forgiveness is very high on the list of what Priest's do!
He had to know there was always a possibility that the bike could be damaged and since the damage was relatively minor, I can imagine he was more relieved than anything else. Besides, we've all made dumb mistakes in our youth, including that Priest, I imagine!
