Can't keep 14" bars tight

you could always go really old school..... cut up an aluminum beer can - small stip of aluminum long enough to wrap around the bar than tighten up the clamp; worked like a hot damn in the olden days...... prolly still would.

+1 - 1" strips from an aluminum can work well and stand up to the elements over time.

Should be all you need to stay on the road. Been doing the job for years and miles.

or the easy fix would be get 1/2 in longer bolts so you can really get some threads to tighen it down...

That is not an option on some risers as they have a blind hole.

Maybe the threads in the holes are stretched and you should consider replacing the risers before you compound your safety issue with beer cans or sanding paper.

Easy fix......

1. New bushings

2. Grip tape... Next time you see a little punk on a skate board ask him where he get's his grip tape at. You can buy a sheet for $8 bucks. Next cut the sheet into a couple of strips and wrap it around the bars, tighten the bars down and your done.
