Default Apes Flexing??

I just finished installing 16" Carlini Gangster apes today and rode it for the first time trying to adjust the new clutch cable. I've had HD Beach Bars for 2 years now so having my arms elevated is new to me. I noticed that I feel some flexing in the bars and I also pick up more vibrations. With the beach bars, the bike felt nice and solid, but the bars didnt have the weight of my arms on them. Is the flexing normal? I've got the 1 1/4" bars with HD 1 1/4" risers that came with my beach bars, they worked out fine for the Carlini's. I re-torqued them before I installed the bars and I know the Carlini's are nice and snug. I dig how the bike feels and rides, just curious about the flexing.

taller bars means you have more leverage on the rubber bushings.

stop pulling so hard..

They recommend that you use a one piece solid riser clamp. Don't know if your model had the two separate clamps as stock. I doubt if the bars themselves are flexing unless you are one powerful son of a gun.

I would like to see a pic of those bars on your bike.

Oh yeah. Get the poly bushings.

When I had 14" Flyin' Apes on my Deluxe I ended up going with the Drag Big Buffalo 1.5" risers with the 1 piece top clamp and the bushings from Carlini and I never had an flex issues.

I had a girlfriend once, we saw an ape flexing at the zoo, she said it had a nice a$$. Haven't seen her in years, I wonder what kind of gorilla she is hanging out with now.
