Default Need help with dilemma.

I am thinking about buying a 94-96 heritage softail, 1340 evo carbed. 1) Can anyone tell me how power would be compared to my 06 softail Deluxe, 1450 twin cam efi? Next, my wife rides with me everywhere. She is comfortable on the Deluxe, but would the older softail be too much for her as I've heard they vibrate quite a bit more than the newer ones. I am selling a 2003 Dyna wide glide for a friend of mine and we rode it around a few times for the heck of it. She says the vibration in back is too much for her. Is it possibe to conclude then that the older softail would be too much as well, or is it impossible to compare a newer Dyna with an older Softail? 2) I'm just trying to gauge how much vibration we're talking about and if would she be uncomfortable. Thanks

My wife rides on the back of my 89 FLST without any problems. I've never ridden an 06 to compare power but I would figure it would be a noticable difference. With that said, I've never felt like my 89 couldn't get me into and out of all the situations I've come across while on the road with the power that it has.

That older Heritage is gonna vibrate LOTS more than your friend's '03 Dyna. If your wife doesn't like the Dyna she'll hate the vibration of the Softail.

Find one 2000 or newer and that'll work for both of you.

My wife seems to enjoy the vibration of the '98 FXSTC.

Good wide passenger seat with a back rest and floor boards with a passenger set of highway pegs will stop the complaining as much as anything will stop a woman from complaining. I still own an Evo and a Twin cam. Evo has less cubic inches then the Twin cam so less hp stock. A Twin cam B has less vibration then the non balanced engines. My Evo vibrates more then my Twin cam B.

My first new Harley was a 94 FLSTN (Nostalgia). Power wasn't an issue, but vibration was. Any speed over 60 mph rattles my teeth. Go for a 2000 or later with a "B" motor....but I still miss the look of that '94.

my 90 fxstc vibes a little more than my 06 dyna used to but its nothing thats untolerable.

in fact when i hit 70 mph the vibes pitch changes and becomes less. my wife is more comfy on the 90 softail than the dyna!!

i mean come on its a harley have some ***** its gonna shake a bit!!!

Ive got a 95 Dyna Wide Glide and love every bit of it. I dont know what ya mean by NO vibrations. Ha, Its a Harley. Some mods and the power is nice, the ride is nice, and yes it vibrates..........hence the term "Milwaukee Vibrator".
