a few years ago was working on getting my licence and got the permit back then but never had my own bike or no ones to use to take the driving part and once my permit expired i didnt do anything with it.
so i have been working on saving up to get my own HD and starting to get there now so im goin tomorrow to take the permit test here in town. used to ride motorcross dirt and some street so shouldnt be a problem i hope. it wasnt last time at least so hopefully it all goes well
Good luck. You should be fine. If your state does the swerving between cones part of the test, be sure to practice that a couple of times right before the test.
I'm also looking for a Softail after about 20 years off bikes. I have lots of experience on sport bikes, but I live in CA now and they require a cone test. I'm taking the Harley riders course that uses Buells and gives a waiver on the riding test. The $350 cost of the course is taken off the price of a bike if you purchase from a Harley dealer.
Check into the MSF for your area. The class is inexpensive, informative and in some states will completely fulfill the permit and ridden portions of the test.
Pass the class and get your license, using their bikes.
don't be ashamed to ask fellow riders, especialy the ones that impress "you" on how to ride properly.
I've been riding for over 40 years and when I see something that impresses me, I make it a point to ask,how did you do that and make it look so effortlessly"?
