Had a similar experience. Flashback to May,1978. I was driving with some friends outside of Sevenoaks, about an hour south of London, when we stopped for a traffic light. Heard this awesome sound out my left window (remember, the driver is on the RIGHT in England) Just then a DROP DEAD GORGEOUS long haired blonde, dressed entirely in black leather, pulled up next to our Morris Minor on a VINCENT BLACK SHADOW. My God, I thought--the Concorde of motorcylcles! I was intotal AWE of rider & motorcycle. I mean, this was just TOO COOL! When the light changed, she accelerated away with a sound that I can't describe. To this day, I still wonder about her,and even moreso, that Vincent. Where is that bike now?
my first gf's dad had a 41 knuckle for a daily rider in 95-96.. wish i could spend more time around him and that bike.. wouldnt mind running in to my exgf eather..
Back in 87 when I had a Softail Custom and was in the local hog club a fellow that rode with us had a think it was 47 Knuckle a red one that rode with us a lot. Think he was originally from New York he had one of them handlebar mustaches and wore them ole pants and boots. He always kept up with us. Wonder where he is at now. Think his name was Ken. This was in Austin, Tx when Buddy had Central Texas HD on north lamar.
A buddy, his significant other, and I were at a local run. One of the bikes was an old Indian. I looked like he just took it out of the barn, blew the dust off, and started it. Amazing. Oil running down the side of the tank, worn faded leather, original paint. Started right up. When people started to notice the bike, it became the star of the show.
A rolling piece of history is right. Amazing to see it running right there.
