Do you guys live where these little surprises fall from the trees this time of the year..They are all over the place out here in the country..Mean little rascals..

They keep spiders away,you put them in your closet an out of the way places like the corners in the kitchen, remove them when they start to turn brown all over,they work great,use them every fall here in wisconsin

Have them in parts around here. Lucky however they are mostly on farms around here to separate property lines. Have been hit with them suckers before and that does smart some.

It's really the fruit of a Bodark tree.

Just encountered some of these last weekend on a ride. I spotted them in plenty of time, so it wasn't an issue, but it did make my imagination run wild for a split second.

They are in Kansas as well. They sell them at the Renaissance Festival as stated to repel spiders. In KS they have Brown recluse Spiders so I guess they are popular. The Quail and Squirrels take them apart for the seeds inside.

Yep, they're called horse apples here in Texas. They will get rid of Water Bugs too. They're ripe and falling now. It does come off a bodark tree, and no I'm not going to try to spell it right!

I grew up calling them Osage oranges. For those of you that don't know about them, they are hard as rocks.
