This past weekend My son, Brother and I rode the Tail of the Dragon. We loved it. It was fun but not to over chalanging. I am still waiting for the KillBoy photos. To be honest the ride on 28 to get there was a better ride more long swooping curves. The cops were out in full force on 129 too not a single one on 28. we also hit the Blue Ridge Parkway. The leaves were changing why we were there they started to fall about day 3 there. We got as little rain and lots of clouds in the BRPW.

The Dragon is FUN when the COPS aren't there!! 28 is OK for a long ride, but the Dragon is better for a technical ride...Check out the Snake (US421) next time your here...It's like the Dragon but LONGER!!
We do an annual ride to the Smokies and usually ride the Dragon, but did not this last trip because 129 was closed due a landslide on the Tennesee side. You should do the Cherohala Skyway. The road from Deals Gap to the Cherohala is absolutely awesome! If you do the Cherohala you will come out in Tellico Plains and from there ride 360 which is also a sweet road. The Foothills Parkway is also a must ride. Many, many incredible roads to ride there.
Did the Dragon, DGap, and the Skyway the first week of this month. I think we had a lot more sun than you guys did. Great bonding time for you and your son.
We were there as well this past weekend, came down from KY on Friday. Did the tail and headed over to Marysville HD. Had a great time! Always enjoy this area. Someday we'll get to the BRP hopefully.
