I lane split on the 5, 78, and 15 all the time during rush hour traffic. Once the speeds get above 40 to 45 I get back in line with the rest of the people, but I see crotch rockets flying by everyone doing 65 plus between traffic
My daily commute is Long Beach to Torrance. What I've discovered is that if I lane split on the 405 or take surface streets and pull to the head of the line at every red light, my commute time is pretty much the same . . . intuitively it seems like the freeway route when lane splitting ought to be faster, but it's not (at least not at the speeds I lane split at) but the surface street thing seems like it's a whole lot safer and it's definitely a lot less wear and tear on my nerves. Lane splitting is not a passive sport!
i only do it when everyone is stopped. i dont go out of first gear.
guy was a moron if you split lanes at a high speed. but i guess he wont have to worry about that issue again.
it may sound cold, but i really dont care when a biker gets hurt or even killed doing something stupid.
i had a friend get upset with me because his best friend was killed doing a wheelie at 90 MPH and a car changed lanes in front of him going down a two lane road. i told him the moron got what he was asking for....
sorry, i just dont give a chit when morons get wiped out being morons.
