With all the posts as well as news reports of people being injured and killed by texting drivers I was wondering what others here do when encountering a texting driver. Last evening riding home from work I pulled next to a woman texting holding the phone in her lap. I raised my face shield and yelled "GET OFF THE PHONE BEFORE YOU KILL SOMEONE!!" She then yelled, cussed at me etc. She caught up to me at another light and shook her stupid phone at me continuing to yell something. At that point I yelled she was a stupid f-ing bi%&h and turned in a different direction to head home. I wish I could just ignore these idiots, but I can't. How do you cope? Unfortunately South Carolina has no real laws prohibiting this which from the sounds of other posts make no real difference anyways.
My leg is still healing from an accident with a texter august 2009. Check out my gallery pictures. I would love to carry a stack of 8 x 10 full color glossys of my flap & graft around to hand out at intersections to morons on cell phones, but that isn't going to solve the problem.
Yeah here in IL our txting ban went into effect the first of the year. I think i've almost been hit way more this year than last, so it obviously didnt help.
My dog and I was nearly run over on the park sidewalk this summer. A 10 year old girl was hauling *** down the sidewalk on her bicycle while texting on her iPhone. We had to dive for the grass and she never even saw us.
They passed a texting law here in Ga. I don't think it has changed a damn thing,I see just as many or more now. Pisses me off every day.
I doubt that it will make a whole lotta difference other than if you are in an accident and they were texting at the time the law should be on your side...
Cell phones, GPS units on the dash, laptops and every other device out there that takes your attention from the road cause problems!
