Something similar to this...

Value could fluctuate greatly based on condition.

Yea, this is it...I've been doing reading but I guess I need to read a little more...My buddie that has this bike is needing some money, so he called me couple hrs ago trying to sell it to me for 5000.00..I went to see it and its in pretty decent shape, I drove it a mile or so and it ran fine...Is 5000 to much for it??? Is it a sportster or electra glide???

it's a cool bike that's for sure and only going to go up in value... if in mint condition i would jump on it for $5000.

It is an ironhead Sportster as others have said. Depending on condition I would offer him $4k for it, especially now when you could find a shovelhead for $5k.

I wanted to thank everyone for their quick responses...Because of your knowledge, I saved 1200 bucks...I told my buddie what I learned about the bike and its rough value and we made a trade instead in which I basically have 3800 in bike...In a day or so, I'm going to post some pics in the classified area, hopefully being able to sale it and recoupe my money that I had in my 1973 dodge dart sport...Again, thank you for your responses... Make sure you read the rules for posting in the Classifieds before you try to sell it.
