Honda VTX
I will say this: I really like the look and sound of an HD, I don't like the price and horror stories I hear about the dealers. Who knows, someday I might be on an HD, might not. For a beginner though, my bike is perfect for me.
Also, I ride to work every day so I just couldn't put up with an unreliable, oil leaking bike...I KEED...I KEED! [sm=roll.gif]
I ride an 06' 1300R, it's my first bike and I've never riden an HD. So I can't really say which I like better. I really like the look of my bike although there is some plastic to replace and I really need an aftermarker exhaust. I can definately see how the ride could be better in a more expensive bike but again I really don't have anything to compare my ride to.

OK I just have to go at the Dealer remark.........
Before we went on our trip Hubby needed bags and such...he also needed a service on his bike. So we went to the local dealer who has a bunch of snot nose kids working for him. They had never heard of easy brackets or any other type of removable bags or a removable sissy bar. They really didn't know anything about the honda bags either. We ended up joining a VTX forum to get some information.
The service department also had a snot nose kid as a service writer...he acted like he had never seen a VTX before in his life. He also had no clue how to write up the 16k standard service. When hubby picked up the bike they had not filled the fluids properly (they had filled everything to the "low" level and not the "full/fill" level)...he took it back down there and they got right down mad at him.
Not every dealer is the same.....this is a dealer I would never go back too. Through all this...though Hubby loves his VTX he did make the comment that Harley has employees that definately put more effort into knowing thier product. Harley also makes more of an effort to accessorize thier bikes better.
