With all due respect,tell me how this creates more jobs.
The way I see it is if Harley sells 10,000 (pick any number) of bikes in India that all the components for are made in the US, someone has to make those components. Whether Harley hires new people to build the components or avoids laying off staff because they don't have the work for them without the extra 10,000 bikes, jobs have been created (or saved). Just my opinion but seems logical. The more we build in the US and export, the more jobs in the US.

Harley's biggest market is the US. I think they would lose a majority of the US market if they outsourced the core of building their bikes (they already outsource/buy quite a few of the parts from overseas). If the whole bike was built offshore it would be hard to claim a Harley was an American tradition any longer and IMO they would lose the majority of their largest market. It would be enough to make me look at a Victory, as ugly as they are

not to mention the parts made for motorcycles. trucks will have to transport trailers to a port for loading on a container ship. trucks need tires, fuel, drivers. trucks need to be repaired, mechanics have to fix them. drivers have to eat. restaurants will feed them. food has to be delivered to them. more drivers, more trucks more tires more fuel. someone has to make tires. some one has to deliver fuel. containers have to be loaded on the ships. people have to load them. that's just the trucking end of it. someone has to make brake light switches, someone has to make motorcycle tires, steel is needed to make frames, tanks, wheels. paint has to be manufactured. and so it goes on and on and on and on.
