Stepped bars arent designed to have those style risers. If you do find a brand that they will fit on, its highly likely that they will break. 1.25" stepped bars, by design, need a 1 piece clamp for strength. You can run our Hefty bars and risers no problem.......

would have loved to run the hefty bars but for some reason they have totally different dimensions. to be honest and not slamming the product, I'm leery of using them if their structural stability depends on a riser cap, could you explain why these bars need a cap across the top to stop them from breaking ? they are made of steel right ?? I don't see this mentioned at your website, at least not the page that appears when you click the 16 inch ape link. please help ease my mind about running these bars.

Here is the specs straight off of your site , the hefty bars are narrow at the bottom , and to much pullback....they resemble chubbies.

16 "hefty bars = Width - 39.5", Center Width - 10.5", Rise - 16.5", Pullback - 10.5

16" reg apes = Width: 40", Center Width: 12", Pullback: 8"

edit: I do see in the J&P catalog that they say to run a one piece with the wild one chubbies so now I'm really curious. I need have fairly flat bars, so its ya'll or carlini but I prefer it be LA , I love the feel of them and they look great, I just don't want to die yet lol. would there be a problem in running 3 inch tall stock style risers ??

another edit : do I need stock style riser cap or can I go with something at least easy on the eyes like joker machines series 900 clamps.??
for a while I was thinking the top piece was to stop movement between the risers, but that wouldn't explain why it is not needed for a 18 inch bar.

The extra weight of the 1.25" bar is a lot of extra weight to distribute in a small area not using the 1 piece clamp, so why risk it? They simply were not designed for that application. You can use any one piece clamp that is designed to fit stock risers, and yes, 3" risers are no problem. The middle in between the risers would be a terrible eye sore, with out a 1 piece top clamp anyhow.

It is recommended that a 1 piece clamp be put on with any new bar change. Period.

OK, I'll order a set of risers with a one piece clamp, I just cant do the hefty 18's ( although to me , that clamp is an eyesore lol )
I'm sure I come across as an *** , but I can't help that my mind needs to know why things is the way they is I haven't messed with turned down bars before . I do appreciate the help , and really do love the bars.
