Sorry redmondop, I have no idea who that is. I like this thread but I think it is generational. For me, being born in 1970, it is hands down Evel. I also think he would win as the overall most recognizable figure associated with motorcycles. I could be wrong though. Like I said, this thread is generational.

Evel Knievel. No one else is even close. The guy is an American icon associated with doing crazy **** on motorcycles. A distant second might be someone like Sonny Barger.
All of the racing greats; Kenny Roberts, Malcolm Smith, et al, are well known in the world of motorcycles, but relatively unknown to the general public.
I'd be shocked if you asked any adult who Evel Knievel is, and they had no idea.
