Twice.

Back in the 80's, first day cleared to go back to full duty at work after ACL surgery an 83 yr old man driving a '70 bonneville pulls out from a stop sign and catches me between the forks and frame. I do me Evel Knievel impersonation flying thrugh the air and bouncing around the pavement. Full face helmet so mainly road rash but my rice burner was totaled.

Last year on my current bike, 1,600 miles from home, a guy in a pickup backs staright out into the road from a blind spot. I t-bone him, thrown forward then onto the pavement. Fractured my right thumb and messed up the tendon when it came off the grip and smashed into my fairing mounted mirror. $5,000 dmage to the front end.

Bike shipped home and I flew.

I am 72 yrs young and rideing strong and I have lost some good friends over the yrs of riding. some thier fault some not. It seems that some of you folks on this fourm like the word CRASH very much. crash bars, have you crashed, I crashed, the word crash is not or never used by anyone that has been involved with Harleys over the years. The word crash is very offensive to a lot of us folks.

A PC grandpa. Who would've known. I'm almost 60 and a crash is still a crash. It happens.

My first accident was with a car, that I thought was parking on the right side of the road but she thought she was driving a semi into her driveway on left, I tried to pass her on left and she turned into me, my fault!
second mishap i was making a left turn and the road looked wet but no rain in sight, all of a sudden the bike slips out from underneath me ,kept my feet up and spun around in circles thank goodness for crash bars! apparently a truck spilled fuel oil around the turn.

Being politically correct, how many of you riders have had a "boo boo" while on two wheels? Is that better?
