I was getting MB in warm weather and started riding with Under Armor compression shorts. They fixed the problem.

Yes I have a Mustang seat with a backrest but any bike or any time I ride and it is warm out,the first thing I reach for is corn starch,or Baby powder..Have taken a lot of ribbing for it over the years..

If I hadn't learned it elsewhere, I was reminded of it here on hdf, that as you/we get older your/our noxious emissions are sometimes moister than you/we expect upon release of said gasses. I've learned too, this has serious impact as to the timing and place upon which MB strikes.
I might also guess that a backrest might alleviate the need for your sphincter muscles to be so tight when riding, as you are in a more relaxed position without need to hold your body erect. This and all the vibs might stimulate unknown release of said gasses. My guess anyway!

Monkey Butt powder or baby powder with corn starch works great. I also wear compression shorts instead of everyday under-drawers. With the two combined, I can ride all day with no monkey butt problems.

I was having this problem and my wife got tired of hearing me talk about it so she got me one of the air circulation pads from HD. I can not say enough good things about this. I can feel the air flow over my but while riding. I added the compression shorts and no more MB for me.

Not a Dr. but do try to pay attention at times. Try sitting up strait and see what muscle groups it affects. If your a slouch like me, you will recognize this quite quickly. I believe I need to start riding my bicycle again. that should build some lower torso muscle strength.
