I use the kill switch.
When I am leaving the bike, I always set the alarm . I found out that when I use the kill switch and forget to turn the ignition off, the alarm will not chirp when I set it. This acts like a fail safe and alerts me to the fact that I haven't turned the ignition off.

If someone flipped my "on/off" handlebar switch to the off position It would probably take me a minute to figure out why I couldn't start the bike. It got turned to the "on" postion about 7 years ago when I bought the bike and hasn't been moved eversince.
Well my bikes have a key that has to be tunred on every time and off every time so I just use it to turn the bike off and leave the kill switch at run at all times-why do to steps when you can do one?
