Default Is paint milking permanent?

So I just got back from deployment and I've been riding my bike every chance I get. I rode the bike yesterday knowing that it was going to rain later in the day and the bike sat for a few hours before it started raining. Later in the evening I noticed that the base of my gas tank had a milky tint to it and water stains. Since the bike had dry I've noticed it's not that bad but still there, will it always be there or will it go away? I normally garage the bike but due to lack of space and no cover it was rained on. What's y'alls input on my situation and has it ever happened to anyone else?

Wash it and wax it to remove the road grime and water spots.

Something has softened the paint on your bike.

Do you keep gas and/or oil near your bike? The fumes from petroleum based products can damage paint.

Is your paint factory or aftermarket?

I bet it's in the wax. Strip the wax off and rewax.
McQuires has a product for that. I forget what it's called, but read the labels on the bottles.

Mine does that when it gets wet...

Depending on humidity, it will eventually dry out. I think the clear (or the wax) is old maybe, and absorbs some moisture, and that makes it milky looking. Wash day, rainy day, always turns milky. Sunny day, shines like new... AFTER applying Pledge!

I wonder if Pledge makes it that way? Nope, did it before I started using Pledge!

Dawn dish soap will strap the wax just fine.

just learned in another recent thread that the claybar will also strip wax ()

might want to take a spray bottle w/ water and a few drops of dawn, and claybar all your tins - that'll get the wax and all road grime / surface crap off, then you can put a good coat of wax (I use zaino bros) on that

i had an area on top of my bags that looked like the paint was wearing through to the primer. waxing it didn't help. the last time i washed it i used lemon pledge afterwards (for the first time). wow what a shine.
