Sorry, Redscout, didn't mean to question your motives. However, when dealing in the stock market, the hardest thing to do is sell a stock when it is on the rise. There is always the opinion that it will go higher. And, when it is dropping, there is a tendency to hold it thinking it will rebound. It is easy to "shoudda, wouldda, couldda" in retrospect. In general though, most folks ride them up then ride them back down.
My opinion on buying individual stocks.... don't use any money you don't mind losing. If you are going to invest in stocks, go with mutual funds. They aren't as likely to make big swings and aren't as reliant on numb nuts CEO's like Kenneth Lay (rest his soul).
My wife gave me a single share of Harley Davidson stock last year for Christmas, She bought it from One Share or One Stock .com sight off the internet, They sent me the paper stock in a nice frame it is an official share of Harley stock. Looks pretty cool hanging on the wall.
