+1 for Jockey Journal, theres some cool bikes on there, also if its a shovel your planning, try Shovelhead USA. Good luck and post pics of the build so we can all enjoy.

Thanks for the compliment and invite....not planning a shovelhead build, but I have to admit since I got the '72 this year I have really become a fan of the old iron. I spend a lot of time on the CAI forum, just reading the posts about the knuck's, flat's, shovels, and pan's...and I would love to get another older bike in pretty original condition.

I picked up the shovel from a friend whose dad passed away this year, bike sat for six years in his garage. his dad bought it brand new in 1972, has 35k miles on it. fully optioned flh, tour pak, fairing, windshield.....and has dad kept it completely original. like I said, this is going to my son, he's 10 now.

Took me 2 weeks to get it running and cleaned it up. rode it all year, more than my 2006. all I really had to do was rebuild the master cylinders from the old brake fluid issues, change fluids, replace a few things, but nothing major.
