A myth, tho strangely enough the bike with the most problems for me is the green Henderson. Has the DOPs (dreaded oil puke), clutch slips (needs the slave cyl rebuilt) and shifts poorly (needs the tranny blueprint fix). 'course it was one of the first off the line.
If you ask me green is okay (despite what I have heard since I was a kid) but watch out for white 06 ultra classics.....I know of at least 8 that were either involved in serious accident injuries or the bikes were totaled. That includes mine. Mine had little damage and is as good as new but I wonder if I can pawn it off on one of the 07 tranny noise guys.....maybe one of them has a green one to trade. Maybe every year model has an unlucky color. In 06 the unlucky color was definately white.
I have heard the same thing......but about stock cars.......Hmmmmmmm maybe that's why J.J. Yeley in the green Interstate Battery #18 that is green seems to run in the top 10 almost the whole race and then something happens and he ends up finishing from 15th to last in every race???
British Racing Green has been around a long time as others have said.......I have also heard some tale about how green cars (or bikes) are in more accidents because they blend in too easy with the grass and trees on the road or whatever. Something about the insurance rates or stats or higher for green.....sounds like another urban legend........and isn't Eddie Trotta a green freak?
I did have a forest green '69 Malibu years ago that I had real good luck with.......(damn! I wish I had that thing back now)
Regards,
Draggin (what still likes green) S
